“See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.”
(Hebrews‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬)

Many people, who have horrible backgrounds or past experiences, come before Christ.

• Maybe, you grew up in an abusive home where your father beat you or you might have experienced emotional abuse from your mom.
• Some people were molested as children, while others were raped.
• Many of us have been violated in a physical, emotional or verbal way by a family member, a friend, or even a stranger.

What does a Christian do in such situations if the abuser now seeks forgiveness? How does one forgive something that seems unforgivable?

The truth is that nothing that has ever been done to us, no matter how painful it seems, compares to the folly of our sins against God.

Yet, God chose to forgive us through Christ Jesus. When we come to realize how much we have been forgiven, it becomes easier for us to extend forgiveness to others.

“Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
(‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:31-32‬ ‭NIV‬‬‬‬‬‬)
