It’s been a year now when all this “ECQ Saga’” began. In fairness, we enjoyed the “Great Comeback” during the last quarter of 2020. But then it was short lived because here we go again waiting, until when? we don’t know.

The good news is that we are not alone. People in the Bible also had to wait, and most of them were just as confused, bewildered, and disoriented as we are. Sarah, Hannah, Ruth, Joseph, Gideon, Abraham, and many more were like us, they also hoped; like us, they waited in the dark. Their stories are God’s gifts to us—gifts to encourage us to endure in our journeys.

Exodus 3:7 tells us that even when God does not change our circumstances now, He cares: “I have indeed seen the misery of my people… I have heard them crying out…, and I am concerned about their suffering.”

God sees. God hears. God cares. This is even when we are waiting. I cannot tell you what lies ahead in this global pandemic crisis, but I can offer you this: When God says, “Wait”, He may not tell us for how long. When God says, “Wait”, we can work on two things: on how we wait, and who we become along the way.

“Yet I am confident I will see the Lord’s goodness while I am here in the land of the living. Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord.” (‭‭Psalms‬ ‭27:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬)

May God’s promises give you the strength and faith, not just to suffer through your ‘waiting time’ but to grow through them into the person God wants you long to be.

With more patience,
